Shark Bite

Shark Bite was created in 2020 as a submission to the QuiltCon Together 2021 Fabric Challenge category. It went on to win first place, and was displayed at QuiltCon 2022 in Pheonix. It also hung at AQS Paducha in 2023 and won Best in Show at the Grace Quilt Company’s Fall Festival (online)

The image is a play on perspective to create drama and depth. It depicts a shark in the background about to eat a small life form in the foreground. This was a metaphor for my mother and her cancer.
