Shark’s Cove

This quilt was created at the same time as Shark Bite. It started as extra wave blocks from Shark Bite and it was intended to be the backing, but I didn’t understand much about making quilts at the time. Once both tops were completed and I started thinking about the complex quilting I intended to do, I quickly realized that it wasn’t possible due to the bulky seams of both quilts. So Shark Bite became its own quilt. It was designed on graph paper and the foundation paper pieced patterns were hand drawn on my kitchen floor on extra-large pieces of paper, with a ruler and a compass. It is free-motion quilted.
